Atlas Copco is a leading supplier of innovative compressed air and vacuum solutions, energy solutions, pumps, power tools and assembly solutions. The Antwerp distribution center (Airpower Service Center) focuses on the efficient storage and distribution of spare parts for compressor maintenance and repairs, with quality, reliability and speed at its core. Until recently, storage and picking were largely manual, creating challenges in terms of storage density and system capacity. This presentation will show how, within Atlas Copco’s existing distribution center, service quality, storage density and the resulting system capacity have been increased by transforming a manual warehouse into an automated warehouse.
